Prof. Alakendra Roychoudhury (Roy), Professor at Stellenbosch University

I am a Professor of Environmental Geochemistry at Stellenbosch University. My research is in the field of marine chemistry where I focus on bioactive trance metal dynamics and linkages with phytoplankton productivity in polar oceans and sea-ice. I obtained a PhD from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA in the field of Aqueous Biogeochemistry. I have worked in Chicago, at Northwestern University, University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University in South Africa. Over time I have held many editorial positions in top journals within my specialisation and have represented South Africa in international committees, the most relevant being GEOTRACES.
